Nick Kyrgios needs time out before Wimbledon tilt

THE last place Nick Kyrgios wants to be right now is on a tennis court.

The 20-year-old Aussie (pictured), who thrilled the nation last year with a breathtaking run to the quarter-finals at Wimbledon, gave no indication he was ready for an encore this year after a 6-3 6-4 loss to French Open champ Stan Wawrinka in the first round at Queen's.

"I am probably going to stay in my house for a couple of days and sleep, play computer games and chill out," he said after the match.

"Not think about tennis, turn off all tennis channels, delete my ATP application, and just not think about tennis for a week or so.

"I just felt uncomfortable the whole time really - not feeling great. I don't know what it is, I'm not a doctor."

Fellow Aussie Bernard Tomic also lost his first-round match, but Adelaide teen Thanasi Kokkinakis earned a second-round match-up against France's Gilles Simon with a 6-7 6-2 6-4 win over Jeremy Chardy.
