UPDATE: Missing Riverview woman Henny Dompasa has been located and is safe.

Police thanked the media and public for their help in the search.

UPDATE 6PM: Police and SES personnel will resume their search for a missing woman near Ipswich tomorrow.

Known as a regular walker, 68-year-old Henny Dompasa failed to return from one of her regular outings in the Riverview area yesterday.

Her disappearance sparked a major search involving police from the search and rescue team and SES.

Inspector Keith McDonald said police and a bolstered SES team would resume the search about 7am.

"We have had our search and rescue and Polair chopper involved and we've been calling out for residents to check their backyards," Insp McDonald said. "We are getting more reserves in for (Wednesday).

"We had 30 SES personnel on Tuesday and we will have more for Wednesday, as well as some vehicles from other areas, including some ATVs."

Police are investigating several possible sightings of Henny, who is feared to have become confused and wandered into bushland.

"She is known for going on two to three long walks every day. She usually sticks to the road and footpaths but she has potentially walked off into the bush," Insp McDonald said.

Henny was last seen walking along Old Ipswich Rd at Riverview, and usually travels along Old Ipswich Rd and Collingwood Dr between New Chum and Redbank.

She is about 145cm tall with a thin build and short dark hair.

She was last seen wearing a black short-sleeve fleece jumper, aqua tracksuit pants and black thongs.
