Kanye West to run for US president

Bang Showbiz

KANYE West has announced he will run for president in 2020 and the world can't quite figure out if he is being serious or not.

As the controversial hip-hop artist accepted his Vanguard Award from Taylor Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards on the weekend, West discussed the backlash he had felt since he interrupted Swfit at the same awards six years ago.

He then ended his speech by saying, "as you probably could have guessed ... I have decided in 2020 to run for president."

Other choice quotes from Kanye's lengthly acceptance speech included his confession to the audience that he smoked a little something before getting up on stage just "to take the edge off"

"Thank you Taylor for being so gracious and I often think back to the first day I met you," he said.

"I often think about when I go to a baseball game and 60,000 people boo me, it crosses my mind a little bit."

"I will die for the art, and for what I believe in - and the art ain't always gonna be polite."

But will we see the most controversial man in music step into the Whitehouse? Better yet, could Kim Kardashian West be America's first lady?

Bring on 2020.
