THE family of murdered schoolgirl Jayde Kendall is inviting the community to a public memorial service next week.

The memorial will be an opportunity for the community to farewell the Gatton teen, who disappeared on Friday, August 14.

The service will be held on Thursday, September 17 at the Gatton Indoor Sports Centre from 4pm.

The family also requests that instead of flowers, those who wish to can make a donation to the online fund that has been set up in Jayde's name.

The service comes after a huge public outpouring of grief and support for the family following Jayde's disappearance.
