Katter’s beefcake in bed with Bleijie

IT SEEMS Katter's Australian Party will go to extreme lengths to get into bed with the LNP, after its rookie MP was caught out during parliamentary O-week.

LNP frontbencher Jarrod Bleijie received a shock when arriving back to his parliamentary room in the early hours of the morning, to find serial gym poser and Member for Hinchinbrook Nick Dametto scantily clad and asleep in his bed.

The pair have laughed off the incident, with Mr Dametto putting it down to an "honest mistake" by a parliamentary staffer.

"Normally if I'm asleep in bed and the lights come on I expect to see my wife,'' Mr Dametto said.

"The incident clearly hasn't lowered Jarrod's opinion of me, going by his imitation post of me in the gym last week.

"It was one of my first experiences of Parliament House, and one I won't forget.''

Mr Bleijie, who has occupied the room since he has been a MP, said the incident was a first in his nine-year career.

"I thought I was dreaming because we all know the only bed the Katter Party is interested in getting into is Labor's," he said.

Mr Dametto recently drawn attention by flaunting his physique on Instagram, including posting selfies from the parliamentary gym, which inspired Mr Bleijie and other MPs to follow suit.

But Mr Dametto has been warned by Clerk of the Parliament Neil Laurie to stop posting photos from the in-house gym, as it is considered off-limits to media.
