Ipswich police officer to face court after suspension

An Ipswich police officer has been suspended pending the outcome of a stealing charge.

The 47-year-old Acting Senior Sergeant has been issued with a notice to appear in court on one count of stealing.

Further details of the allegation have not been made public.

He will appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on December 6.

Queensland Police Service said the officer's suspension did not mean the allegations had been substantiated.
