ANYONE with an iPhone, who has updated to iOs 9 needs to read this.
There is a new feature called 'wi-fi assist' which automatically kicks into gear when your phone can't find a consistent wi-fi signal.
What that means for you? It means those videos you think you're watching over wi-fi could flip over to 3G without you ever knowing.
Next thing you know, you've racked up a HUGE bill, similar to the one above that Canadian Perry Franz copped back in 2010, when he left his roaming on as he travelled overseas.
To make sure you're not stung, make sure to disable wi-fi assist.
Here's how you turn it off in 3 easy steps:
1. Go to settings on your iPhone
2. Choose the "Mobile" option
3. Scroll all the way to the bottom and turn off wi-fi assist.
Clarification: An earlier version of this story linked the image of a $17,148 bill with Apple's iOs9. The image comes from a bill faced by a Canadian phone user in 2010. This story has been updated to reflect that.
