How our Codie outshone Miranda

WITH her fiery locks and undisputed beauty, Codie Young is hot property in the fashion world.

The Sunshine Coast model has a unique look that's both inspiring for photographers and perfect for the catwalk.

She has gained international recognition in an industry where appearance is everything.

And now she's debuted at No.30 on the list of world's Top 50 Models.

It's no small feat in itself but the newly-redheaded Coast product had to beat the likes of Miranda Kerr to do it.

In fact, Miranda didn't make this year's Top 50.

Codie's agent, Summer Fisher of Busy Models, was delighted by the achievement.

"It solidifies her as a top model in the industry... it's a really big deal," she said.

"There are only two other Australian girls on the list - Abbey Lee Kershaw and Julia Nobis."

Ms Fisher said the Top 50 List was based on how many campaigns, runway shows and editorials the models had done.

Now based in London, Codie has recently shot spreads in Germany and Turkey and graced the pages of Vogue UK and Vogue Australia.

She opened runway shows at New York Fashion Week before jet-setting to international shoots.

Ms Fisher said it was a great achievement after less than four years in the industry and Codie's success was a credit to her personality and unique style.

"She has a really great, laid-back attitude, nothing fazes her too much," she said.

"Dying her hair red was a good move. I think the industry demands that you constantly change your look and keep it new and fresh."
