Firies powerless as flames engulfed Bellbird Park home

POLICE suspect that a fire that destroyed a house in Bellbird Park started accidentally.

The two-storey house on Jones Rd was fully engulfed by the time firefighters arrived at the scene.

They were powerless to stop the destruction, and it was lucky that all occupants were out of the home before the flames took hold, about 7.40pm Monday.

Police kept the house under guard overnight, with officers from the CIB and fire investigation unit returning yesterday morning.

Although the cause of the fire was not confirmed late yesterday, it was suspected that there were no suspicious circumstances.
