Man fined $900 for ride in stolen car with mystery woman

A SPUR of the moment decision to go for a ride with a stranger cost Kevin Marshall Swan $900.

The 38-year-old Mt Morgan man pleaded guilty to unlawful use of a vehicle in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court yesterday.

The court heard a woman picked up Swan and another person from East St in a stolen white Mazda on December 3, last year.

She was not known to either of them.

The woman crashed and fled the scene, leaving Swan and the other passenger to face police.

The court heard Swan knew the car was stolen.
