THOSE who survived Devin Kelley's rampage have helped recount what happened inside the church where 26 people were killed.
Rosa Solis, who was shot in the arm, played dead and hid under a bench as he unleashed 450 rounds at parishioners.
Mrs Solis says he yelled 'Everybody dies motherf**kers!'
She told KSAT that he started shooting the crew in charge of the camera and audio area.
He then moved into the centre aisle, toward those at the front of the stage with the music crew.
She said he targeted crying children, shooting them at point blank range.
"I saw bodies with a lot of blood. That's all I saw because I wasn't about to get out from where I was hiding," she said. "I played dead. I made sure I hid myself good under that bench," she said.
Mrs Solis and husband Joaquin Ramirez made a last-minute decision on Sunday to go to church. Mr Ramirez had already taken off his shoes, but Mrs Solis insisted they go.
"The Lord saved me because I know it was my last day," Mrs Solis said.
HERO MUM SHIELDED HER KIDS
A courageous mother or four died trying to shield her little ones from gunfire during the Texas church massacre.
The New York Post reports that when the killer entered the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Joann Ward pushed Rihanna Garza, nine, to the ground and used her body to block bullets from her three younger kids, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.
Her quick thinking saved two of her kids - Rihanna survived with barely a scrape, and son Ryland Ward, 5, was shot four times but is the alive in a hospital after surgery.
But Brooke Ward, also 5, died at the scene, and Emily Garza, 7, died later in a hospital.
''I didn't get shot because I was hiding, and Mama covered Emily, Ryland and Brooke," family friend Vonda Greek Smith quoted Rihanna as telling her.
A GoFundMe page has been set up for Ryland.
Their father, Chris, had stayed home because he'd worked the night before and was awakened by his brother with the devastating news.
"They shot up the church, everyone's been shot," Michael Ward told his brother after carrying Ryland out of the church.
Chris Ward reportedly ran to the church without even putting on his shoes.
The men sprinted to the church and started pulling bodies out, to find Joann and Brooke dead. Michael told the Dallas Morning News that he carried Ryland out in his own arms. The boy is in critical condition.
