81-year-old missing Tweed Heads woman found across border

UPDATE: An 81-year-old woman reported missing from Coolangatta since 6pm yesterday, has today been located safe and well in northern New South Wales.

30 SES volunteers were involved in finding the woman.

EARLIER: AN 81-year-old Tweed Heads woman has gone missing from Coolangatta.

Reta Kirkwood was last seen at a bus stop on Griffith Street in Coolangatta just after 6pm.

She has a medical condition that could cause additional concerns for her safety.

Reta is described as Caucasian, about 163cm tall, of a slim build with white hair and green eyes.

She was last seen wearing dark denim jeans, a white cardigan and brown shoes.

Reta was carrying a blue "enviro" type bag and also possibly a bright pink overnight bag.

Anyone who has may have seen Reta or has any information about her location is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
