Hanson brings Rockhampton into national refugee debate

ONE Nation leader Pauline Hanson has cited experiences she has had in Rockhampton as an explanation for why Australia should not let in more refugees.

During an interview on morning television program Sunrise, Ms Hanson mentioned Rockhampton's high schools and meatworks.

"Last week I was up at Rockhampton...refugees that are now in the town are actually taking the jobs in the meatworks and Australians up there feel like there is reverse racism," she said.

"The schools, North Rockhampton School plus also (Glenmore) School, high schools, have over 100 refugee children each.

"They are abusing and making death threats to the teachers, you have a full time police officer there."
