Dream comes true for Tin Can Bay retiree Matthew Deans

A DOWN-TO-EARTH Tin Can Bay retiree has declared his life will change drastically following his division one win in the weekend's Saturday Gold Lotto draw.

The happy man plans to finally pay off his house and enjoy living mortgage-free for the first time.

The Wide Bay-Burnett region winner held one of the 11 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3787 on 4 November 2017. Each won a division one prize of $369,059.13.

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning marked 12-game entry from Ange at the Cove Lotto & Newsagency, Shop 2, 46 Queen Elizabeth Drive, Cooloola Cove.

When a Golden Casket official contacted the man, he recounted the moment he discovered the dream-come-true news.

"I've got a computer - I don't know why - I just look up the weather, that's about it!" he laughed.

"But I checked my ticket online and I just kept looking at it!

"I was shocked! I don't know what to do!"

The regular player, who has been marking his Gold Lotto entries with the same numbers for decades, confessed he almost didn't buy his winning entry.

"This will change my life drastically," he said.

"I'll finally be able to pay off the house. I'm mortgage free!"

Ange at the Cove Lotto & Newsagency owner Ange Buckland said she had goose bumps when she saw her outlet had sold its first division one winning entry.

"We've only been open 12 months and this is our first one!" she exclaimed.

"When we saw that we'd sold it we cried a little and I had goose bumps. It's just great to think it will help change someone's life," she said.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3787 on Saturday, November 4, 2017 were 22, 7, 30, 4, 17 and 26. The supplementary numbers were 41 and 44.

Across Australia there were eleven division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3787 - two from Queensland, one from New South Wales, six from Victoria, one from Tasmania, and one from South Australia.

Last financial year, there were 275 division one winning Saturday Gold Lotto entries across the Lott's jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $283 million.

The Lott's division one winning tally has now reached 352 so far this calendar year, including 92 won by Golden Casket customers.
