Griffin makes no excuses for Broncos before Bunnies clash

BRONCOS coach Anthony Griffin said his team has no excuses against the Rabbitohs at Suncorp Stadium tonight, despite being without injured stars Justin Hodges and Josh McGuire.

Centre Hodges is carrying a groin injury and prop McGuire has a calf problem, but both should be back next Saturday night against the Eels.

Jarrod Wallace will come on to the bench for McGuire, while Jordan Kahu will start on the right edge.

New Zealander Kahu has played just the one game against Melbourne, in round four this year, but Griffin backed him to fill Hodges's big boots.

"Early on he had one little mess-up there (against Melbourne), but after that I thought he was very good. He's a quality kid and he's still learning," Griffin said.

"We've got no excuses. It's going to be a tough game and there are a couple of different people in there."

Griffin also believes Wallace, with just two previous NRL, will fit into the Broncos' structure.

"Both (teams) play similar games. Simple approach, high completions and kick and chase," he said.

"We've got a lot of respect for Souths. They're premiership favourites with the Storm."
