UPDATE: WITH major national retailers set to open in Grand Central, Toowoomba is well on its way to becoming the region's fashion hub.
Already, five major brands have announced they will soon call Toowoomba home once the two-storey retail galleria opens later this year.
Grand Central announced today that Hype DC, Universal Store, Platypus and Rockwear are set to join iconic retailer H&M as part of the $500 million redevelopment.
Grand Central retail manager Kathleen Hart said there had been an overwhelmingly positive response to the new stores.
"These and other exciting retailers will be delivered as part of the Grand Central redevelopment to compliment our existing dynamic retail offering," she said.
"We're proud to be bolstering Toowoomba's reputation as a city that is coming of age as a thriving regional hub and delivering the kind of retail experiences that the local area deserves."
Hype DC has set the standard for footwear retail in Australia, selling a range of branded footwear for men, women and children.
A Hype DC spokesperson said the urban street style in Toowoomba was pretty on point.
"We can't wait to take this to the next level, bringing our exclusive range of premium footwear to Grand Central for the first time."
