Pedestrian struck and killed by truck on motorway

UPDATE:  A male pedestrian has been killed at Reedy Creek after being struck by a truck while walking on the Pacific Motorway.

Police said about 4.20am, the man was walking on the southbound lanes when he was struck.

The man was declared deceased at the scene.

Both southbound lanes of the motorway will remain closed whilst the Forensic Crash Unit investigates. Traffic diversions are in place via exit 82.

Police are appealing to any members of the public who may have witnessed or have dash-cam footage of the incident to contact police.


A DRIVER is in a critical condition and traffic slowed on the M1's after a crash in the southbound lanes this morning.

The crash occurred at 5.21am at Reedy Creek and emergency services are on-scene.

The crash has caused more than 2km of congestion and police are urging motorists to avoid the area if possible.

The forensic crash unit is investigating.
