LAST year's successful Ipswich Showgirl winner Courtney Foster encourages other young women to enter the contest to become the face of the show.
Ms Foster, 19, will hand over the crown to her successor when the 2013 Showgirl is decided at the Ipswich Show Ball on Saturday.
"It was actually a lot of fun - a lot more fun than I expected," she said.
"I got to do the pet parade, the welcome speech, I presented ribbons and lots of people asked for photographs.
"Being the showgirl can really open doors for you if you want it to."
The show's rural ambassador, junior show prince and princesses and the show Queen and Matron will also be named at the function, which will be held at the showgrounds reception centre from 6.30pm.
Entertainment will be provided by the band Triple Beat.
Tickets are available through the show office or by phoning 3281 1577.
