Forty jobs slashed from Medicare Local in Wide Bay

Medicare Local no longer exists in Australia, taking with it the jobs of 40 people across the Wide Bay region.

Out of the 40 people who have been made redundant, 10 have been offered new positions in the Sunshine Coast head office of the new health system; Primary Health Networks (PHNs).

The more centralised PHNs will replace Medicare Local services across Australia; with the one Sunshine Coast office providing services to the Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay and Central Queensland regions.
