Former CFMEU boss to front royal commission
THE former Queensland head of the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU), Dave Hanna, is fronting the royal commission into trade unions today.
Last night Mr Hanna quit the Labor Party in the midst of fraud allegations against him.
The royal commission is examining whether Mr Hanna fraudulently benefited from work performed on his house, that was allegedly billed to the developer Mirvac.
The ALP had started disciplinary action against Mr Hanna before his resignation.
Yesterday, the royal commission heard from former Mirvac executive Mathew McAllum, who detailed his role in procuring tradesmen and materials for the large house being built for Mr Hanna at Cornubia in 2013.
