Fire hits scrap metal yard in Kingaroy hard

DETECTIVES are investigating a fire that engulfed a building in Kingaroy early this morning.

Around 4:30am police and emergency services responded to reports of the fire at a scrap metal yard on River Road.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but initial reports indicate the fire caused extensive damage inside the building and to business equipment.

No one was inside at the time and no surrounding businesses have been affected.
Investigations are continuing.
