NOOSA audiences will be the first in Australia to see the Shnit International Film Festival.

Following on from The J's short film festival success, the venue has been chosen as the first to host Shnit this year.

In its 12 years, Shnit has become a major international short film festival.

Shnit embraces diversity, originality and exchange between creators and an audience from different cultures and backgrounds by creating a multi-platform event for high-quality short films.

The international competition Shnit Open includes five award categories and total cash prizes of US$100,000, and attracts award-winning short filmmakers from around the globe.

As a result, Shnit presents a competition program of exceptional quality and density.

Last year more than 7000 short films from 136 countries were entered, with 64 films officially selected into international competition.

Date: Thursday 7.30pm
