STATE Minister Shannon Fentiman is standing by colleague, Police Minister Jo-Ann Miller.

Facing questioning during Thursday's Budget estimates hearing, the Queensland Minister for Communities, Women, Child Safety and Multicultural Affairs deflected questions about her colleague from Aspley MP Tracy Davis.

Ms Miller was referred to the Parliamentary Ethics Committee over claims she did not destroy or return confidential Parliamentary Crime and Corruption Committee documents.

Ms Davis, a LNP MP, said a question mark hung over the effectiveness of police to address domestic violence while Ms Miller was under an ethical cloud.

Ms Fentiman rejected the claim.

"Two women die at the hands of their partner or former partner every week," Ms Fentiman said.

"And all we've got from the Opposition is questions about Jo-Ann Miller.

"I work closely will all of our ministers ... I have confidence in all of my colleagues."
