AMERICAN legal identity and justice advocate Erin Brockovich will make her third visit to Oakey as unrest grows in the town over the groundwater contamination issue.

The Oakey Army Aviation Centre has accepted blame for the chemical contamination which took place over decades due to fire-fighting foams used by personnel.

Shine Lawyers is representing some residents of the town and will be hosting a community meeting.

A spokeswoman said the meeting would address the growing unrest in the region.

"We hope this event will rally support from all parties and give some recourse to the people of Oakey."

The meeting is on August 2 at the Oakey Cultural Centre, Cnr McDonald and Campbell Sts from 6.30pm.
