Teenager has the talent and wants to prove her X Factor
VA TUILOVONI has got the talent and is out to prove it.
The Emmaus College student has auditioned for Australia's Got Talent, after taking out a local competition.
Va won the trip to the audition in Brisbane after belting out the Amy Winehouse song Valerie at Rockfest in April.
The Morning Bulletin spoke to Va to hear about her audition for the popular reality TV show.
"We had to line up for a few hours before I could sing," Va said.
Behind all the glitz and glamour of the show, the audition process is quite lengthy. Va said they had to line up and fill out forms, and then wait a bit longer before she even got the chance to show off her talent.
The 15-year-old sang her Rockfest-winning song Valerie, and was even asked to sing a second song, which was Ordinary People by John Legend.
Things were looking good for the student when the talent scout needed a second opinion and asked her to sing again.
"They said I had a really good voice and that I was really good for my age," Va said.
It was a nervous wait for the teen, who was told she was through if she got a call in a few weeks time.
Though the call never came, Va couldn't be happier with her audition and is ready to give it another shot.
"I was disappointed, but I'm fine with it, because I got to have the experience of auditioning."
Va already has her sights set on the reality TV show the X-Factor, and is planning to audition for the 2014 season.
In the meantime, Va said she'll keep doing what she loves, singing at school and at church.
