Dr Petersen heads up a united new faction
IPSWICH voters will be able to cast a vote for the Australian Independent Party which has been registered with the Australian Electoral Commission in time for the federal election.
Leader of the Australian Independents Dr Patricia Petersen said the party met the May 13 deadline to register parties.
"We have well over 500 members, three constitutional lawyers and the AEC itself has approved the name, the Australian Independents, and we have submitted all required documentation to the AEC," she said.
Dr Petersen said the party had candidates running in almost every state and territory and expected even more candidates to join her party within the coming weeks and months.
