Dancers will star in the magical land of Disney

DISNEYLAND is supposed to be the place dreams come true and that is certainly the case for 26 young women from the Sparks Dance Centre in Hervey Bay.

They have been chosen to be one of 20 dance schools from around the world to perform at the Disney Light Parade in the US next April.

Tina Sparks, director of the dance centre, said the audition process was a five-month process, as the girls' performance on DVD went through three panels of judges before a final viewing by organisers at Disneyland.

"All the girls are really excited," Ms Sparks said.

The dancers will also give 30-minute performances at Universal Studios, Hollywood Boulevard and the Disney Resort.

Ms Sparks said it was great that a little school from Hervey Bay had been chosen for such a big event and asked the community to support the dancers to help them achieve their dream.

The centre will host fundraising events throughout the year.

For more information on how to help the dancers, phone the Sparks Dance Centre on 0417 488 133 or visit sparksdc.com.au.
