UPDATE 12.20PM:

DALTON Dr at Maroochydore is now open to all traffic following a two-car crash this morning. 

Firefighters cut a man free from the wreck of his van after the collision just after 11am. 

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the man suffered superficial injuries to his lower legs.

He was taken to Nambour General Hospital in a stable condition.

EARLIER: 

FIREFIGHTERS are cutting a man free from a van after a two-car smash at Maroochydore this morning. 

Early reports indicate the van and another car collided on Dalton Drive, just before Newspaper Place shortly after 11am. 

One lane of Dalton Drive is closed. Traffic heading towards Sugar Rd is blocked as firefighters work to free the man. 

The extent of injuries is unclear at this stage, however the man was talking with paramedics as he was transported to an ambulance.
