Confident Crows destroy St Kilda Saints with strong form

ADELAIDE'S stronger running saw them dominate the second half against St Kilda at AAMI Stadium last night, recording a 12.15 (87) to 6.11 (47) victory.

The Saints took it to one of the competition's strongest outfits in the first half, only trailing 32-23 at the main break.

But Rory Sloane (25 disposals) enjoyed a strong second quarter, before teammates Richard Douglas (26 disposals and one goal) and Scott Thompson (25 disposals and one goal) took control.

The Saints simply couldn't not keep up with their opponents in the third quarter, with the hosts kicking five goals to two.

St Kilda's David Armitage goaled to narrow the margin to two points early in the third period.

But Nathan Van Berlo (two goals for the game, including one right on the three-quarter siren), Thompson, Daniel Talia, Douglas and Tom Lynch all kicked majors in the third quarter.

That dominance continued in the final quarter, with the Crows kicking three goals to one.

It was St Kilda's lowest score since round one, 2011.

The Saints were led by Leigh Montagna with an impressive 34 disposals, while captain Nick Riewoldt had 18 disposals and a goal.
