Corporate reporting season fires up at the ASX

REPORTING season hits warp speed this week, with a quarter of the ASX 200 dropping results between Monday and Wednesday alone.

Non-banking financial corporates will churn out a variety of figures, with a fair bit of interest centred on Medibank Private's maiden result freed of government ownership.

The big number of the week should come from Wesfarmers, which is forecast to produce a full year profit of $2.4 billion.

Miners and energy companies are expected to produce some very sobering numbers, while the standout result may well be delivered by the once crippled national carrier, Qantas.
