Coalition gains key Queensland seat in election race

THE Coalition has retained Forde, one of three key Queensland seats that have gone down to the wire, though Opposition Leader Bill Shorten is refusing to concede electoral defeat.

The ABC's election computer says the Coalition has now won 74 seats and Labor 66, while five remain undecided.

The Liberal National Party has moved ahead of the ALP in the central Queensland electorates of Capricornia and Flynn.

The ABC is predicting the Coalition will form a minority or majority government.

But Mr Shorten has indicated he will not concede until the Coalition officially wins 76 seats.
