DESPITE knocking back a bigger offer from the Panthers, Todd Carney's manager David Riolo said his client was delighted to re-sign at Cronulla for another five years.

"He's settled in the shire and has good mates here - that was one of the major reasons in him staying at Cronulla," Riolo said.

"The club has treated Todd well, but he's also stood up as a leader in difficult times this season."

Sam Ayoub, the manager of Sharks back-rower Jayson Bukuya, said his client was on the verge of signing a two-year deal at the Warriors, to play more first-grade minutes.

"Jayson's at the stage of his career where he needs to be starting games," he said.
