Bulldogs young gun Macrae earns Rising Star nomination

A STANDOUT performance against the Suns has earned 18-year-old Western Bulldogs midfielder Jackson Macrae the round eight Rising Star nomination.

Despite playing in a losing side, Macrae, taken with pick six in the 2012 AFL National Draft, racked up 26 possessions and four tackles.

The youngster, being mentored by Bulldogs veteran Robert Murphy, said he was loving his time in the big league, despite having to get up at 6.30am to catch public transport to training.

"I haven't had a day yet where I've woken up and didn't want to come in to the club. I'm loving every minute of it," he said.
