IT doesn't get any tougher for centre Brent Tate and his Cowboys teammates.
The Cowboys will face form team South Sydney tonight at a ground they've found hard to win at - ANZ Stadium.
And opposing right-centre Tate will be in-form outside backs Bryson Goodwin and Nathan Merritt.
"It's going to be a big test - I don't think there's a bigger one in the NRL at the moment," Tate said.
"The last couple of weeks I've been watching him (Goodwin) and he's been showing some really good signs."
Tate knows exactly what Queensland teammate and Souths fullback Greg Inglis is capable of, saying halves Michael Morgan and Johnathan Thurston would have to perform well to keep him out of the game.
"Our kicking game is going to have to be really good. We've just got to try to limit his (Inglis's) opportunities with the ball," Tate said.
The Cowboys have managed an eighth-best 142 points so far this season, but Tate said his team was not worried by that.
"A big focus has been our defence," he said.
Souths coach Michael Maguire said the Cowboys quality forward pack and world-class halves would present a serious challenge.
