Wooden house razed as fire tears through home

UPDATE: NewsMail photographer Paul Donaldson said a timber home was razed after a fire tore through it on Thursday.

"The building is on a private property and it is pretty much burnt to the ground," he said.

"It is a mess, there is no structure left."

Mr Donaldson, who was at the property, said two Bundaberg fire crews were on scene along with a control truck and two rural fire crews.

The fire broke just before 5pm and was then extinguished.

It is unknown at this stage whether anyone was seriously hurt. 


EARLIER: FIRE crews have rushed to a house fire in Givelda.

It is believed a wooden house is well alight.

A relay has been set up from the a nearby damn.

Two trucks from the Bundaberg Queensland Fire and Rescue Service are at the scene as well as a number of rural fire crews.

Queensland Police and Queensland Ambulance Service are also on scene.

Two people are being checked by paramedics for smoke inhalation.
