Motorbike ploughs into carport, cars

A CREMORNE St family had a nasty surprise on Saturday after a motorbike ploughed through their front yard, crashing into their carport, car and a neighbour's car.

The rider, a 34-year-old Gladstone man, was left in a critical condition with serious head injuries, a broken leg and fractured ribs, after the single vehicle incident in Tannum Sands.

Gladstone Police yesterday confirmed the 34-year-old was still in hospital but were optimistic about his recovery.

The forensic crash unit is investigating after the motorcycle was travelling southbound along Cremorne St about 12.15am when it left the road, crossed onto the opposite side of the street and went onto the footpath between Latrobe and Pryde Sts.
