Barefoot burglar robs home, leaves shoes behind

SUNSHINE Coast residents are being reminded to keep their doors locked, even when they're inside.

A burglar who robbed a North Buderim home in the pre-dawn hours of July 21 was in such a hurry to get away they left their shoes behind.

Jean Harris had got up to let the cat out about 4.15am and left the door unlocked.

The burglar struck about 45 minutes later, and while he or she got away with Mrs Harris' handbag, a pair of joggers were left behind in the open doorway.

Mrs Harris reported the theft to police, who told her the early morning was a "popular time of day to break in".
