A BABY was almost born aboard the RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service yesterday morning when a 31-year-old woman went into labour.

The woman was camping on Masthead Island with her husband, family and friends when she went into labour.

The baby boy was born 30 minutes after the helicopter touched down in Rockhampton.

The mother and baby are doing well.
