The Aldi special buy you won't be getting

ALDI shoppers in the UK have gone crazy for a new product that is about to hit their shelves.

The budget supermarket has released a new range of sweet dessert wines including the 500ml bottle of Rubis Chocolate non-vintage wine for £9.99 ($A16.69).

In UK media reports, ALDI claims that the 15 per cent strong wine is a "chocolate lover's dream" with hints of smooth dark chocolate, fruits and dried figs.

The wine has also won a "Silver Outstanding" award at the International Wine & Spirit Competition in 2015 and 2016.

On the Rubis Wine company's website, it is described as a "fortified tempranillo wine and premium chocolate flavour".

"Notes of rich cherry and red fruit enveloped in velvety premium dark chocolate means Rubis can be enjoyed as an after-dinner treat or on any special occasion," the website states.

"It can be served at either room temperature or chilled over ice for that ultimate chocolate experience."

But when News Corp Australia asked ALDI Australia if the festive wine was on its way here, a spokeswoman delivered the bad news.

She said: "We won't be selling chocolate wine - unfortunately!"

The news comes after ALDI Australia also confirmed it would not be bringing its wine advent calendar to Australia after it also caused a stir in the UK.

Many posted Facebook messages to ALDI Australia's Facebook page calling on the local arm of the company to bring the product here.
