Alan Jones could face legal action over Grantham claims

SYDNEY-based radio broadcaster Alan Jones could face legal action from a member of the prominent Toowoomba Wagner family.

Successful Toowoomba businessman Denis Wagner has said he's considering legal action against the broadcaster for "trying to blame him and the Wagners" for making the 2011 Grantham floods worse.

The findings from the Grantham Floods Commission of Inquiry were released publically yesterday and appeared to exonerate the quarry formerly owned by Wagner Group of exacerbating the deadly floods

Mr Wagner said the inquiry revealed what he knew - that the quarry was not to blame.

Should Alan Jones be made to apologise for his comments on the Grantham quarry?

He said some media outlets fed the attacks against the quarry.

"This report clearly proves that what Alan Jones has been saying has not been truthful and we are considering all our options in that regard," Mr Wagner told AAP.

The Chronicle has sought comment from Mr Jones' company 2GB.
