"WHAT you've done is the most remarkable gift, so please feel that warmth in your heart because that's what we feel toward you."
Those were the words of Guide Dogs Queensland's community manager Olwyn Kerr directed at the staff of Myer Maroochydore for their mammoth $39,500 contribution.
Myer holds a nationwide store fundraising competition every year and this year the Coast's store pipped the gargantuan Myer stores of Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne for top place.
Ms Kerr said it was a reflection of the Coast's community spirit.
"The Sunshine Coast is renowned for its philanthropy and thank goodness for it because we receive no government funding," she said.
"As a blue ribbon organisation in terms of funds, we are dependent on business and community.
"People can breathe a little easier knowing they've made a difference.
"And it just shows the generosity of the staff here.
"I mean it from the bottom of my heart, I really do."
Ms Kerr's speech was received with tearful applause and from none more so than store manager Sallyanne Holland who championed the entire year's fundraising.
"I think it's really amazing," Ms Holland said, wiping away a tear.
"I can't imagine the stress on families and (we're delighted) that we can make their lives easier and happier.
"We're really, really proud," she said.
