MORE than 200 people were involved in an all-in brawl at a junior rugby league match in Townsville.

Police were called on Saturday morning after a woman allegedly ran on to the field to attack a player over a high tackle on her son in an under-15 final.

A witness told ABC more than 200 spectators and players rushed on to the field from the sidelines and fought until dozens of police officers arrived.

"And then it turned into a brawl and next minute you know the parents and spectators started getting involved," the witness said.

"One lady got king hit from behind by a bloke and then everyone started chasing him."

No one has been charged over the incident, but the local rugby league association is running an internal investigation.
