Man taken to hospital after being hit by a truck

POLICE say road rage may have gone wrong this morning at a traffic crash on the D'Aguilar Highway.

A man has been transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital  with serious head injuries after being struck by a vehicle on the Caboolture Showgrounds exit of the D'Aguilar Highway at about 5am.

"There was possibly a bit of road rage which we're investigating," a Queensland Police spokesperson said.

Initial inquiries indicate that at 4:50am, a man driving a utility got out of his stationary vehicle and was hit by a truck that was travelling in the same direction behind him.  The truck also hit the utility.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash or saw the vehicles travelling on the D'Aguilar Highway before the crash to contact Police.

Investigations are continuing.

Anyone with information which could assist with this matter should contact Crime Stoppers anonymously via 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au .
