34,000 NBN lines are being laid on the Coast right now
Two words rarely raise such extremes of hope and frustration among Sunshine Coast residents.
For many, high-speed broadband has been the far-off dream for years.
NBN Co is right now busy building fixed lines to bring high speed internet to 34,000 premises on the Coast.
19,000 Coast homes can already connect.
Are you connected to the NBN yet?
This poll ended on 10 August 2016.
Yes, it's improved internet speeds.
Yes, but I haven't noticed the difference.
No, I'm still waiting for it in my area.
This is not a scientific poll. The results reflect only the opinions of those who chose to participate.
"Residents can expect to see NBN contractors boring and digging trenches, installing new pits, constructing cabinets, hauling, splicing and testing fibre cables, copper jointing and interfacing the copper network with the fibre network," NBN Co Corporate Affairs Manager for Queensland Kylie Lindsay said.
As their streets are wired, occupants at 6600 premises in Nambour received letters telling them to get ready for NBN last month.
"This is exciting news for local residents and businesses in Nambour as the region moves closer to being able to connect to the nbn and access fast broadband services," Ms Lindsay said.
"Access to fast broadband is designed to provide a range of benefits for homes and businesses such as improved opportunities to work from home, better access to online education and health tools and more options for on-demand entertainment.
"Whole families will be able to be online at the same time, using multiple devices and all enjoying the same fast speeds.
"And for businesses, be it e-commerce, sending and receiving files, accessing online services, internet and data security, cloud based sharing or communicating with staff and customers, all aspects will be faster and more efficient with the nbn(tm) (sic) network."
