THE people behind Treehenge are going for a Wild World Record when they plant their Celtic henge.

Tree planting at the Treehenge site will begin tomorrow.

THEY flew people over the our rich soils last June in a massive kookaburra; and tomorrow the people behind Treehenge are going for a Wild World Record when they plant their Celtic henge.

Maryanne Thompson said organisers were hoping for "a couple of thousand" trees to be planted at Gladfield in one hour.

"We tried to do it in November but the ground was too hard," she said.

"Now conditions are ideal after the rain we've had. We have to plant at the right time of the year to enhance their life.

"But the holes have been dug and people just have to come along and plant the trees."

A henge manager will show people exactly how to do this and people can dedicate trees to loved ones by purchasing them too.

Ms Thompson said people didn't need to be green thumbs to plant some of the trees.

"It's going to be hard going but we're sure we can do it," she said.

"If people are looking for something to do Saturday afternoon, we've got marquees, Treehenge shirts and people are welcome to come and have a look at the property."

Another Wild World Record will be made that day when Ms Thompson makes the largest organic fruit salad, which she said was appropriate in this area.

Planting will take place from 2-4pm. Look for signs on the Cunningham Highway.
