GOOD JOB: Blue Care Ipswich Respite Services volunteers Heather Oakley, Jan Duncan and Jennifer Hill.
BLUE Care recognised its 2380 valued volunteers across Queensland and northern New South Wales as part of International Volunteer Day on Monday.
Respite Care centres at Ipswich and Redbank celebrated the day, with staff serving the volunteers a special morning tea to show their appreciation.
Blue Care Ipswich Respite Care service manager Michelle Grillett said 25 volunteers in total helped through the year with morning tea, games and activities, outings, bus hosting, shopping and administration support.
"Some of our volunteers have been with us for more than 20 years," she said.
"Every volunteer gives something of themselves, which enhances the lives of the clients attending our centre.
"We are currently looking for more volunteers to help with bus hosting, cleaning the respite vehicles and meal preparation.
"If anyone has a spare morning or afternoon once a week and could help, please contact us."
