Couple spices up city cuisine

THE Punjab Curry Club has followed some of its most loyal clients back to Ipswich and is set to reward those who used to drive kilometres for a curry fix.

NEW RESTAURANT: Deepti and Monish Pathak open up a new eatery in Ipswich.

THE Punjab Curry Club has followed some of its most loyal clients back to Ipswich and is set to reward those who used to drive kilometres for a curry fix.

The restaurant had its official opening this week with owners Deepti and Monish Pathak welcoming a large crowd that included Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale and Federal Member for Oxley, Bernie Ripoll.

Mr Pathak said he was "really excited" to open the restaurant in Thorn St, which joins the couple's popular venues at Springfield Lakes, Coorparoo and Wellington Point.

"We've been in Springfield Lakes for two and a half years now and we have a strong customer base from the Ipswich area," he said.

"They travelled a long way for dinner, so we decided it was time to open in Ipswich."

Mr Pathak said the keys to success were serving traditional food with top quality service.

Punjab Curry Club also has a reputation for giving back to the community, one endorsed by Punjab Warriors touch football spokesman Ron Hopkin.

"They are going to be brilliant for Ipswich," he said.
