THE Indonesian Supreme Court has recommended that Australian Schapelle Corby's 20-year sentence for drug trafficking be significantly reduced, it's been reported.
The ABC says a Supreme Court judge has recommended a significant cut to Corby's jail sentence in a submission to Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, citing unnamed sources.
Corby, 33, is serving a 20-year jail term after she was caught at Bali's airport in October 2004 with 4.1kg of marijuana in her boogie board bag.
Earlier this year she applied for presidential clemency, saying she was suffering from depression that could endanger her life.
Clemency decisions in Indonesian can take months.
Corby's lawyer Iskandar Nawing told the ABC he had not heard anything from the courts, but that his client is mentally ill and the president must show mercy.
