IPSWICH Jets CEO Brad Wolens has released a formal statement on the club’s decision to not re-sign head coach Glenn Lazarus.

The statement reads: “Glenn has been a tireless contributor and key part of the club for the past four years, assisting to introduce many new initiatives and programs in the club.

“Glenn has always been on a year to year contract given that he has to balance coaching with his business and media commitments.

“Glenn is a true legend of the game who is passionate about the club and the city of Ipswich., with much of what he has done for the good of both being done quietly and without the desire of self recognition.

“The rumours that have circulated have been disrespectful of Glenn, his efforts and his standing in the game. In the normal course as we have done for the past four years, the club and Glenn would now discuss matters over the next few weeks and consider the coming season.

“Given the circumstances and to bring an end to the speculation Glenn has decided that he will regrettably not be applying for the position of head coach of the Ipswich Jets in season 2011.

“Glenn will continue as head coach of the Ipswich Jets with the full support of the board and players.”
