A FREE giant slide, free come-and-try sessions and free Skirmish will be among the highlights at the Ipswich PCYC open day on Saturday.

Offering something for everyone, from crawling babies to 100-year-olds, the centre puts on the annual event to give back to the community.

The open day starts at 11am, and activities also include a free jumping castle, activity displays, food stalls, airbrush tattoos and 100 free junior memberships to be given away.

PCYC youth facilitator Shelley Clark said most instructors would conduct free come-and-try sessions to show the Ipswich community just what the PCYC was all about.

“We have aerobics, boot camp, boxing, gymnastics, music, dance, trampoline, pilates, squash, tae kwon do and judo,” she said.

“For adults, there is personal training, weight loss, yoga, zumba and much more. We also do outside school hours care.”

For the open week specials, people could receive up to 50% off selected activities.

“It is free to enter and it's sure to be a great family day out,” Ms Clark said.

“You really would be amazed at what's right here on your doorstep.”

Ipswich PCYC branch manager Sergeant Neale Porter said the PCYC was open six days a week.

Entry to the open day is free. It will run from 11am until 2pm at 1c Griffith Road, Eastern Heights.
